7 Habits of Happy People
Being happy is the essence of life. Throughout our lives, we all strive to achieve happiness, and although some people say they don't need money or they don't need love, who could argue that happiness is not the single most important thing in our existence?I aim to teach you 7 easy ways that you can practice being a happy person, by taking a word of advice from the happy people!
Habit 1: Smile
Smiling is what happy people do. It is an expression of happiness that almost anyone can voluntarily decide to do. If you get an opportunity to smile, then take it. And even if you have no reason to smile, think to yourself; Could it hurt? It has been shown in studies around the world that human physiology actually determines human thoughts. This means that when you smile, you actually start to feel happier.
Habit 2: Exercise
Exercise is one of those things that we all know we should do, right? Well did you know, that as well as all the amazing physical benefits of exercise, it can also actually make you feel happier? That's right! Exercise releases endorphins into the bloodstream, which actually give you a natural high. Just 30 minutes of exercise per day should be enough to get you feeling happy and high!
Habit 3: Be grateful for what you have
Gratitude is one of the most important factors in maintaining a happy outlook on life. When you focus on all the things you have and all the great fortunes that you experience, you will actually feel happier. So, I recommend starting each day by writing down 10 things you are grateful for in your life.
Habit 4: Write goals
Practicing writing down clear, specific, time-bound goals is a great habit of happy people. When you have goals, you have a purpose, and when you have a purpose then you have something to achieve. This gives you drive and ambition and sets you on a sure-fire path to happiness, if you use it in the right way.
Habit 5: Take responsibility
A sense of security and control always helps to make me feel more at peace and happier in general. When you take responsibility for your problems and stop blaming other things and people for things, this puts YOU in control and makes you feel calmer and happier about just about any situation.
Habit 6: Love with your heart
Always remember that we are all human beings, who have all grown from tiny, innocent babies into adults. Remember that we all need love and you'd be amazed what love could do.
Habit 7: Treat yourself
Every now and then, you deserve a treat. Make sure you get something that you like, just for you and nobody else. This is what you deserve for making all that effort to be a happy person.
Just remember, whatever you do, you can't be happy at every moment of your life. Sometimes things happen that are just out of your control and, being a human, you might feel angry, sad or confused. This is normal and everyone needs to feel a range of human emotions. What you can do though is try to stay positive. This just means that you see the good in every situation and make the best out of the opportunities of life.
